Slim or Classic Fit, That is the question

Slim Fit or Classic Fit: Which one is better?

The fit of the formal suit that you have decided to wear on your wedding makes a lot of difference to your personality and looks. There is this classic fit that has been in vogue since time immemorial. Then there is also the slim fit which is the rage among men in present times. Which one of the two fits is better suited to your physique is a decision that is purely personal. However, you have to take a decision regarding the fit of the suit so as to look at your best during the event.

1.     Classic Fit Suits

These are still the most popular and common type of suits being worn by men across the country. A Classic fit suit is longer and a bit more roomy and leaves sufficient room between the fabric and the body. The shoulders are wide to allow for free movement of your arms. The length of the coat is long to reach the lower level of your crotch. The length of the trousers in these suits is also long, resting on the laces of your shoes. As far as lapels are concerned, there is no fixed style in classic fit suits. It could be standard notch lapel or a wide lapel and the choice depends upon your liking. But in any case, the lapel in a classic fit formal men’s suit is always longer than the lapel provided in slim fit suits. The fitting of the trousers in classic fit suits is relaxed and you feel more room inside them when moving at a party.

2.     Slim Fit Suits

As the name implies, these are formal men’s suits that are designed to enhance the physique of the individual by making them more tight fitting than classic fit suits. You feel more confident because of this figure hugging style though your movement gets restricted as there is lesser room for you. The length of the coat is shorter in slim fit and so is the length of the sleeves. It allows the cuffs of your shirt to be visible when you stretch your hands out. The lapel of slim fit suits is narrow and it looks very formal.

The trousers in slim fit suits are tight fitting and have flat front without any pleats. They also have smaller leg opening when compared to classic fit suit trousers. You have to wear the trousers below the waistline as they have small seat the front.

You need to wear both fits to find out which one makes you look more stylish and handsome. Do not forget your own comfort when choosing the fit. Depending on your body type, sometimes one is much more appropriate than the other.
